Tokyo Skytree and Asakusa Temple

Japan Chronicles 7 – Tokyo Sky Tree and Asakusa Kannon Temple

Last May 22, 2013, one of the places my family and I visited as part of the tour was the Tokyo Skytree from across the body of water. It was a quick stop before spending time at Asakusa Kannon Temple.

???????????????????????????????The Tokyo Skytree is located in Sumida, Tokyo, boasting of its height that has made it the tallest tower in the world. We didn’t get to see it but I think it also has some special illumination at night. Our next stop was the Asakusa Kannon Temple at Asakusa, Tokyo, a neighborhood most popular for the Senso-ji or Buddhist temple.

???????????????????????????????

SAM_1834We spent time gazing at the beautiful temples and buying some goodies from the stores nearby. I wish the tour guide said more about the Japanese culture, relating it to the Asakusa Kannon Temple.

SAM_1860If you’re not fond of temples, you might enjoy the streets of stores of various goodies. Numerous tourists like to visit this scenic spot because it gives them a traditional Japanese feel.
