The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge. – Stephen Hawking

In this day and age, information is but a click away. Ignorance is not even an excuse anymore. Saying, “I don’t know,” is unacceptable without trying. It is therefore our responsibility to know what is happening around us while being mindful of the difference between what is fact and uneducated opinion.

  • Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity. – Martin Luther King Jr.
  • You are not entitled to your opinion. You are entitled to your informedopinion. No one is entitled to be ignorant. – Harlan Ellison
  • The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge. – Stephen Hawking
  • Living is Easy with Eyes Closed. – John Lennon
  • There are people who are generic. They make generic responses and they expect generic answers. They live inside a box and they think people who don’t fit into their box are weird. But I’ll tell you what, generic people are the weird people. They are like genetically-manipulated plants growing inside a laboratory, like indistinguishable faces, like droids. Like ignorance. – C. Joybell C.
  • There is nothing more frightful than ignorance in action. – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Collected Works
  • Being ignorant is not so much a shame, as being unwilling to learn. – Benjamin Franklin
  • We kill all the caterpillars, then complain there are no butterflies. – John Marsden, The Dead of Night
  • People tend to be generous when sharing their nonsense, fear, and ignorance. And while they seem quite eager to feed you their negativity, please remember that sometimes the diet we need to be on is a spiritual and emotional one. Be cautious with what you feed your mind and soul. Fuel yourself with positivity and let that fuel propel you into positive action. – Steve Maraboli, Unapologetically You: Reflections on Life and the Human Experience
  • Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge: it is those who know little, not those who know much, who so positively assert that this or that problem will never be solved by science. – Charles Darwin, The Descent of Man
