Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK)

Traveling from Airport to Hostel

The airport was packed when I arrived last Aug 14, 2015 even during midnight where some areas looked congested and chaotic. However, the surroundings were clean and the signs were easy to follow. I like the BKK airport because it had all the basic things I needed for the trip.

First, many telecommunication companies were offering prepaid cards that allowed me to send messages, make calls and access the internet. Loads of people were lining up to get one. Just bring an extra phone with you and they will set it up where a couple of activations were required. It cost me just 300 Baht for one prepaid card.

Second, the taxi ride felt safe as each ride would require a ticket from the machine that would lead the passengers to their designated taxi on queue. Payment had receipt as well since the taxi had meter. It cost me 460 Baht from airport to Sukhumvit, Khlong Toei. Though the driver would hint for tip, it was better than getting scammed all the way especially for a girl traveling at midnight!

Always do your research before traveling!
