- 300g thinly sliced beef (chuck or ribeye)
- 1/2 onion, sliced
- 1 green onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup dashi
- 1 tbsp sake or rice wine
- 2 tbsp mirin
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- Heat pan over medium-high heat. Add dashi, sake, sugar, mirin and soy sauce. Mix to combine. Cover with lid and boil sauce.
- Add onions and spread them out. Cover to cook until tender.
- Add beef and cook until there is no more pink on the beef. Skim off foam or fat with fine mesh sieve.
